Prof. Dr. Leyla Zer General Surgery Specialist/Breast Surgery I graduated from Samsun Ondokuz Mayıs University Faculty of Medicine in 1989. I completed my Anatomy Specialization at Istanbul University Faculty of Medicine, Department of Anatomy, where I passed the Medical Specialization Examination between 1992 and 1995. I completed my General Surgery specialization at Istanbul Haydarpaşa Numune Training and Research Hospital in 2000, where I started by successfully taking the Medical Specialization Exam in 1995, which was my dream of General Surgery, and thus I became a double major specialist in Anatomy and General Surgery. Between 2000 and 2002, I worked as a faculty member and General Surgery lecturer at Kadir Has University Faculty of Medicine, Department of Anatomy. In 2008, I started working again at Haydarpaşa Numune Hospital, where I received my surgical specialization, and worked as a Surgery Specialist in the same hospital for many years. During my education, I was particularly interested in the diagnosis and surgery of breast cancer and benign breast diseases, as well as proctology (anal area diseases). I was successful in the Associate Professorship exam I took on 19.06.2012 and received the title of Associate Professor of General Surgery. In 2014, she completed the first step of the International course organized by the European Breast Academy in Düsseldorf, Germany, and in 2015, she completed the second step of the course on Breast Cancer Surgery at the European Oncology Clinic in Milan (European Institute of Oncology) in Italy, and completed her studies in Germany, Austria and I received a bachelor's degree in Breast Surgery, which is valid in the German canton of Switzerland. In 2014, I was an observer at Vivantes Hospital Breast Center in Berlin. In 2015 -2017, I worked as an Associate Professor of General Surgery at Yeni Yüzyıl University Faculty of Medicine, Department of General Surgery. I started working at Göztepe Medical Park Hospital in 2017 and established the Breast Center in the same hospital. On 27.01.2018, I received the title of Professor at Bahçeşehir University Faculty of Medicine, Department of General Surgery and served as the Head of the Department of General Surgery between 2018-2021. In 2021, I started working as a faculty member at Demiroğlu Bilim University, Department of General Surgery, and as a General Surgery Specialist at Florence Nightingale Hospitals. I currently work as a faculty member at Demiroğlu Bilim University, Department of General Surgery, and work part-time as a General Surgery specialist at Ataşehir Florence Nightingale Hospital. I have written more than 85 articles in national and international journals and authored 2 book chapters, one of which is "Menopause and Breast Cancer" and the other is "Male Breast Cancer". I still follow scientific congresses and developments closely. My areas of interest are primarily breast cancer diagnosis and surgery, benign breast diseases and surgery, Proctology (hemorrhoids, anal fissure, anal abscess, anogenital conduloma), pilonidal sinus, hernia surgery and thyroid surgery. In addition to my duties at Group Florence Nightingale Hospitals, I provide services in my own clinic in Liberty plaza in the Ataşehir region.
