Prof. Dr. Serdar Nazif Nasır

Serdar Nasır, MD, PhD completed his medical education at Ankara University Faculty of Medicine in 1996, and his specialist training at Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine, Department of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery between 1996-2002. He worked at the Department of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery at Süleyman Demirel University, Faculty of Medicine between 2002-2009. He has been working at Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine, Department of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery since 2009. He received the title of Associate Professor in 2011. Dr. Nasır, who became a Professor in 2019, still works as a faculty member in this staff. * Between 2006 and 2008, he worked on composite tissue transplants with Dr. Siemionow, who performed the first face transplant in the United States and the second in the world, at the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio, USA. * In 2012, he accomplished the second full face transplant in Türkiye, the third in the world and the 22nd in total. Simultaneously with this face transplant, the world's first and only until now four-limbs transplant was performed at Hacettepe University by a large team headed by him. * He won second prizes in experimental and clinical specialist competitions at the 31st and 32nd National Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery Congresses. He completed his doctorate in Hand Surgery at Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine in 2023. He is a member of the American Society of ReconstructiveMicrosurgery, PlasticSurgeryResearchCouncil, Turkish Society of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery, Society of Reconstructive Microsurgery and Turkish Society of Hand and Upper Extremity Surgery. He performs surgeries in well-known, fully equipped hospitals with JCI certification in Istanbul and Ankara.
